Although I am not one to believe in the religious dogma of the devil and hell, it is clear that in 2021, Donald Trump and his mob are manifestations of great evil.

Trump's slowness, pride, and stupidity made him miss his chance to safely slink out as Nixon #2.

There have been growing indications since his huge loss in the election, that he is fearful of being prosecuted for the crimes he has committed over the years. He toyed with the dubious possibility of preemptively "pardoning" himself before leaving office.

Right after the Trump orchestrated two-pronged effort to toss-out democracy through the combined congressional assault on the vote and the ultra-violent mob attack on the capital, many suggested he immediately resign. This would have given him the chance to have his former collaborator Pence pardon him, as Gerald Ford did after Nixon (under threat of impeachment) resigned in disgrace in 1974.

But instead Trump continued his blustery speech and false narrative of having won the election, and clearly intends to keep destroying America until the bitter end.

Maybe he has planned a new deadly assault by his followers to keep him around.

Based on its chorus, I had always deemed the song "I'm a Loser" to be the Richard Nixon theme song.

Step aside "Tricky Dicky", Donnie Dotard has grabbed your loser-crown!

This article on the CNN web site provides an interesting perspective that contrasts the relationship of the police with people's movements, vs how the police treats right-wing extremists and Trump-wing domestic terrorists.

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”

"Propaganda works best when those who are being manipulated
are confident they are acting on their own free will."

These English translation quotes are attributed to Joseph Goebbels, Nazi Germany's Minister of Propaganda. Although some people contend that the quotes are not accurate, they certainly describe techniques used by the Nazi party to destroy the citizenry's grasp of truth.

Trump took these principles to heart after losing (by a huge margin) the November 2020 election:

(All of these statements are lies)

"I WON THE ELECTION"

"I WON THIS ELECTION, BY A LOT"

"2020 Presidential Election Voter Fraud, the biggest SCAM in our nation's history" ... "despite overwhelming evidence"

"An open and shut case of voter fraud. Massive numbers!"

"We won Michigan by a lot!"

"In Detroit, there are FAR MORE VOTES THAN PEOPLE. Nothing can be done to cure that giant scam. I win Michigan!"

"Most fraudulent Election in history!"

Trump repeated lies about the election on a daily basis during the two months after the election. His supporters and also sycophants in the Republican party leadership also bleated these lies.  Trump's strategy repeating lies after lie bore fruit by convincing a large segment of the population that the election had not been fair.
